Former Employee - Assembler says

"Bullying on the shop floor is rife and not dealt with. At least 3 people left during my time there due to being bullied and not taken seriously. Permanent contracts are given on a time served basis regardless of how commited to the job or not you are. No progression unless your face fits. No security as you're kept on a 3-6 month contract for up to 4 years."

Electrical and Mechanical Assembler (Current Employee) says

"Renishaw Is a huge company and work to a very high standard. Only problem with the management is that they treat their people like numbers not people. And If your face does not fit they treat you very badly indeed."

Mechanical Assembler (Former Employee) says

"Don't get me wrong, like all places, the people of more interest and importance to the business are treated better. However I've never worked in a place like this, one of the best reputations for an employer I've come across, however all factory staff are on 3 month fixed contracts, many employees have been on these contracts for more than 5 years.Good pension.very short breaks - set break times"

CNC Setter/Operator (Current Employee) says

"I have been an employee at renishaw for years now, it used to be a very good place to work but more recently they've changed thier attitude towards the machinists. This has caused alot of people to suffer with stress and workplace anxiety. The workers are definately undervalued and unappreciated. There is an unofficial brownie points system in place which means that the supervision will blame everything that they can on the machinists so that they are not at fault in the eyes of the managers. There are some really good managers and one good supervisor, however, the rest of them shouldn't be in thier positions, very old school and love to point the finger without sufficient evidence. No names mentioned.... Avoid the shop floor at Stonehouse. The Wooton site is meant to be good.Good pension, private health care.Low morale, lack of respect and trust"

Integrated Tester for Neurological Software (Former Employee) says

"The team had an interesting domain and made use of the a lot of .NET technologies. The knowledge base was quite advanced and had few positions to learn and work at the same time. This limited the input to the software that new additions to the team can make without prior training. There were no structured routes for training so getting up to speed was a challenge and could sometimes be prohibitive. The team atmosphere was helpful but not as supportive as it was needed for a would be graduate.Great Domain, Great exposure to the Domain and software techniquesLack of support and training made advancing difficult."

Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"I was an outside sales engineer and got very little support. Direct supervisor was very aloof and combative. Excellent pay and benefitsGood salaryPoor communication" is a non-profit organization and communications forum for social activism.
